Social Activist Poet
July 20 Yesterday I met with the Colorado Springs Justice and Peace Commission to begin discussions and to explore how we might integrate poets and poetry into the mission of the Commission. Some ideas include sharing poetry at Commission rallies, producing an organized event with artists and poets, and musicians, for creating awareness for peace, social justice, etc.

I love this idea, Jim. Poetry in the streets! Most of us poets (oh, me too) would start out blinking in the sun, trying to clear our vision of the clouds from our fluorescent-lit classrooms. It's about time! Keep us all posted.
